🚀 Bouldering Fontainebleau Trip – Special Launch Offer

3–6 July 2026

Four days of world-class bouldering, French food, beautiful forests, campfires and adventure.

Join Hackney Climb Bus for our very first Fontainebleau trip and help launch what we hope will become a regular monthly escape from London to one of the world’s greatest bouldering destinations.

Why Fontainebleau?

Just south of Paris lies the legendary Fontainebleau Forest, home to over 25,000 sandstone boulder problems scattered through ancient woodland.

Fontainebleau attracts climbers from all over the world, but it’s far from being just a destination for elite climbers.

With thousands of problems ranging from complete beginner level to world-class test pieces, it is one of the most accessible climbing destinations on Earth.

Whether you’re climbing your first ever rock, improving your outdoor skills, enjoying French culture, exploring ancient forests or simply looking for a memorable long weekend with great people, this trip is for you.

More Than Just a Climbing Trip

With up to 16 people on the trip there will always be someone to climb with, spot you on a problem, explore a village with, share a meal with or join around the campfire in the evening.

Expect shared meals, BBQs, evening socials, campfire chats and plenty of laughs throughout the weekend.

Many people join Hackney Climb Bus trips on their own and leave having made new climbing partners and friends.

Day 1 – The Journey Begins

We leave London early and head towards Dover.

After boarding the ferry to France, grab breakfast, a coffee and head out onto the deck as we depart. On a clear day you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the White Cliffs of Dover before they slowly disappear into the distance.

The ferry crossing itself is part of the adventure.

After arriving in France we continue south towards Fontainebleau, reaching the forest in time for an evening climbing session.

Day 2 – Climb, Explore & Relax

Wake up to fresh coffee, croissants, baguettes, cheese and local French produce.

During the summer months we’ll mainly climb in the mornings and evenings when conditions are at their best.

The middle of the day can be spent relaxing in the shade of the forest, swimming, exploring villages, visiting cafés or simply enjoying camp life.

We’ll finish the day with a BBQ, campfire and evening social.

Day 3 – Climb or Explore

A flexible day for everyone.

Spend another full day climbing or explore the beautiful villages and historic towns surrounding the forest.

We’ll regroup in the evening for another shared meal, campfire and good company.

Day 4 – Final Session & Return

One final morning climbing session before we begin our journey back to London.
We’ll catch the afternoon ferry and aim to return by approximately 11pm.

This is Hackney Climb Bus’ most personal & favourite trip.

This is the journey that reflects the soul of what we do.

Three days of wild Atlantic coastlines, slow mornings, half empty beaches, campfires and sleeping (our campsite is on the first picture) under the stars in one of the most peaceful corners of Cornwall.

This trip is for climbers, surfers , walkers but also for people who simply need a reset from the noise of the city. Bring your non-climbing friends with you.Try surfing. You do not need to climb every hour of the trip to fall in love with this place.

We head deep into North Cornwall — to hidden coves, dramatic cliffs, quiet beaches and places that feel untouched by modern life. Places where the loudest sounds are crashing waves.

We stay at the uniquely serene campsite of Dunsmouth Farm, perched above the Atlantic with direct access to the South West Coast Path. The campsite sits high on the cliffs with panoramic ocean views, open skies and almost total silence apart from the sea below.

Day 1

We Leave London at 7AM .We drive through Stonehenge , Dartmoor and stop at Bone Hill Rocks for bouldering amongst the wild ponies and open moorland landscapes.

As evening approaches we continue towards the coast for a sunset surf followed by a campfire beneath the stars (weather dependant).

Day 2

A slow morning. Breakfast cooked together on camping stoves while sitting in the grass overlooking the sea.

We then spend the day exploring some of the most spectacular and peaceful beaches in Cornwall. Some of us climb boulders on the beach, some surf and some just wonder around the coast and the beach.

Duckpool Bay feels completely wild and remote — a hidden Atlantic cove surrounded by steep cliffs, rock pools, streams and huge open skies. There are no arcades, promenades or crowds here. Just raw nature, crashing waves and silence. Many people describe it as one of the most peaceful corners of the Cornish coast.

Northcott Mouth is a quieter alternative to the busier beaches around Bude. At low tide the beach opens into huge stretches of sand, rock pools and folded cliffs shaped by millions of years of Atlantic storms. In the evenings it becomes incredibly calm, with golden sunsets falling directly into the ocean.

Sandymouth feels cinematic — towering cliffs, winding coastal paths and endless Atlantic views. The coastline constantly changes with the tides, revealing caves, streams and huge stretches of sand. Walking between these beaches along the coast path feels more like hiking through a nature reserve than visiting a seaside town.

The day is shaped by the conditions and mood of the group: surfing, beach walks, bouldering, BBQ, swimming, exploring rock pools or simply sitting quietly watching the ocean.

The evening finishes with a solar shower, music around the fire and another night sleeping above the sea at Dunsmouth Farm.

Day 3

Slow final morning surrounded by cliffs, sea air and silence.

Bouldering ,cliff walks, surfing, beach time and the journey back to London feeling like you have been away for a week.
